What is the ULEZ charge?
The Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) was introduced in Central London in April 2019 to reduce harmful vehicle emissions and improve air quality. In October 2021, the ULEZ expanded to cover a larger area within the North and South Circular roads. By August 2023, the zone was further extended to include all London boroughs, impacting millions of motorists across the capital.
Vehicles that do not meet the required Euro emissions standards are subject to a daily charge of £12.50 for cars, motorcycles, and vans, while heavier vehicles such as lorries and buses face higher fees. The ULEZ operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, excluding Christmas Day.
With the Carr app, motorists can easily check their vehicle's compliance and pay charges in seconds. The app simplifies ULEZ management, ensuring drivers stay compliant and avoid fines.
